Christmas 2025
This year, Linton Free Church (on Horn Lane) is hosting the following Christmas activities.
All are welcome.
-
Christmas Lighthouse (Sunday 7th, 3pm, Church Hall) – free activities for all
primary-aged children, exploring the message of Christmas with crafts, games and snacks!
Parents and carers must stay with their children to help supervise their activities.
-
Joint Christingle Service (Sunday 14th, 4pm, Haverhill Old Independent Church) –
Join us for a special Christingle service as the Old Independent Church in Haverhill and Linton Free
Church come together to celebrate the light and hope of Christmas. It’s a joyful, family-friendly
service where we’ll reflect on the message behind the Christingle, sing carols, and share in the wonder
of the season. Whether you’re a regular or visiting for the first time, you’ll be very welcome.
-
Christmas Cafe Church & Nativity – A CRACKER of a Service (Sunday 21st, 10:30am) –
Every 3rd Sunday, the Free Church has a more informal and relaxed ‘Cafe Service’. This December it will
be combined with our virtual Nativity and is going to be super fun for everyone. In fact, it will be a
CRACKER of a service (come and find out why!). Come in person, or log on to Zoom to join in with the service.
-
Carols by Candlelight Service (Sunday 21st, 6:00pm) – Join us for our much-loved annual
Carol Service — a joyful celebration of Christmas filled with a beautiful blend of traditional favourites
and contemporary carols. This is a wonderful opportunity to pause, reflect, and soak in the hope and joy of
the season as we worship together. Whether you’ve been coming for years or are visiting for the very first
time, you’ll find a warm welcome waiting for you. After the service, please stay and enjoy festive refreshments
as we spend time together as a church family and community.
-
Midnight Communion (Wednesday 24th, 11:30pm) – Join us for a peaceful and reflective
Midnight Communion service as we gather on Christmas Eve to welcome the arrival of Christmas Day together.
This quieter, contemplative service offers space to pause amid the busyness of the season, reflect on the
wonder of Christ’s birth, and share communion as a church family. As midnight approaches, we will welcome
Christmas with hope, gratitude, and a sense of shared anticipation. All are welcome to join us for this
special moment of stillness and worship.
-
Christmas Day Celebration (Thursday 25th, 10:30am) – Start Christmas Day with us at our
joyful family celebration service! This all-age gathering is full of warmth, fun, and the shared excitement
of Christmas morning as we celebrate the good news of Jesus’ birth together. There’ll be time for laughter,
carols, and the familiar traditions we love — as well as a moment to pause and reflect on the true meaning
of Christmas amid the festivities. Whether you’re bursting with Christmas cheer or simply wanting to begin
the day in a meaningful way, you and your family will be very welcome. Come and share the joy of Christmas with us!
